Executive Summary
The client is a leading financial services company serving the retail grocery
sector. Having established itself in the US market, the client
was prepared to expand internationally but did not have the resources or
expertise to adequately identify and prioritize international market
opportunities. Navigate was engaged to conduct a global market
opportunity assessment and to provide tactical business development support
to help launch the business overseas.
Business Challenge
Having established itself as the market leader in the US, the client was
feeling pressure from business partners and prospective customers to expand
overseas. With no international team in place and limited
international expertise within the management team, the client needed
assistance in addressing these new opportunities.
How Navigate International Helped
Navigate developed a global opportunity assessment program that helped the
client to prioritize international opportunities, research key
country/market segments, identify and qualify business partners, and
provided tactical business development support for country visits by the
executive team. The global opportunity assessment identified 14 key
markets prioritized in order of importance. Navigate provided detailed
market analyses for these countries and facilitated country visits to key
markets in Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Germany), Asia (Hong Kong, Japan,
Korea) and Latin America (Mexico and Brazil) - providing introductions,
pre-trip business development work, translation and local market advisory
services. Upon completion of the country visits, Navigate developed
trip summary reports and ongoing business development assistance as
required.
