Senior Strategist: Shih-Fen Chen
Dr. Shih-Fen Chen is an Assistant Professor of International Marketing and Acting
Director of the International M.B.A. Program at Brandeis University’s Graduate
School of International Economics and Finance. He is a specialist in the
fields of international brand management, brand acquisitions and cross-cultural
consumer behavior with extensive industry experience in Taiwan, China and throughout
the Pacific Rim.
Dr. Chen is widely published on international marketing topics including: acquisition versus greenfield operations, joint-venture versus wholly-owned subsidiary, distribution channels, offshore production, foreign sourcing, and branding versus non-branded products in retail markets.
Before launching his career in consulting and academics, Dr. Chen spent 10 years marketing multinational corporations including Ford Motor Company and Micro Electronics in Taiwan. Dr. Chen is the former Executive Vice President of the China Trust Real Estate Co. and former Director of Marketing for Micro Electronics in Taiwan. Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.B.A. from Michigan State University and a B.B.A. in Industrial Management Science from the National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan.
